One of the premier Classics and Supercar shows in the South of England – The Heritage Insurance Classics at the Castle at Sherborne Castle, Dorset – enters a new phase in 2014.
Founder Keith McGee of Merlin Events has transferred ownership of the show to a new organisation, “Classics at the Castle” which is a not-for-profit company. The Company has been created to organise this popular and successful event so that in future all surplus funds will be transferred to the Rotary Clubs of Yeo Vale and Sherborne Castles to donate to charities.
“I am delighted with this new arrangement” said Keith. “As Professional Advisor to the new owners I will continue to be closely involved with the design, development and delivery of the show, as will Show Secretary, Stuart Annett. We are committed to maintaining the high standards and to further extending the scope and spectacular nature of this event. Attendees will be largely unaware that any organisational change has taken place.”
Nigel Young and John Smithee, Presidents, respectively, of the two Rotary Clubs involved, say they are looking forward to working with Keith and Stuart to maintain and enhance the show and thereby raise funds for chosen Charities. “We look forward to seeing again all loyal past and future supporters at the stunning lakeside setting of Sherborne Castle on Sunday 20th July 2014.

Charterhouse will again be running a fabulous auction for both Classic Cars and Supercars.
Charterhouse auctioneers and valuers have been involved with classic cars, motorcycles and automobilia since 1999 with the first specialist auction being conducted in 2000.
Charterhouse had the pleasure of conducting the first classic car auction in the beautiful Castle grounds in 2009, which was very successful. Since then each subsequent auction has been built upon with hundreds of classic cars and motorcycles being sold – with a top price achieved by an Aston Martin DB6 restoration project for a not inconsiderable £150,000.
Charterhouse hold a program of specialist classic car and motorcycle auctions throughout the year at national events such as the Netley Marsh Autojumble in September and the Bristol classic car show in June. Both these events and Classics & Supercars at Sherborne Castle are attended by thousands of potential buyers, which is a unique selling point for Charterhouse’s clients. Having achieved some excellent results for their vendors at Sherborne Castle, they look forward to holding more successful auctions in the future.

The Pantasy Steel Band
The Pantasy Steel Band (or Steel Drum Band as they are sometimes called) are one of the UK’s finest Steel Bands. They play across the country at a wide range of events.
Their steel band music is a good mix of some traditional Caribbean Music which is very laid back and works well as background music, through to more upbeat repertoire which is often more recognisable and includes steel pan arrangements of well known songs by artists such as Bob Marley and UB40.
The event, which is now established as one of the UK’s premier car shows, has over the last 5 years raised over £200,000 for national and local charities.
The British Heart Foundation was our headline charity for the 2019 show.
The British Heart Foundation research all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia, diabetes and many more. All connected, all under our microscope. Their research is the promise of future cures and treatments. The promise to protect the people we love.
In 2019 the Classic & Supercars Show also supported the following local charities:
